Mr Kalpesh S Patel is a Consultant Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon.. Mr Patel grew up in Highbury, having arrived from India at the age of four. He attended Highbury Grove School and having an early ambition to be a surgeon, gained a place at St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London. As an undergraduate, he was awarded the Sidney Scott Prize in Otolaryngology (Proxime Accessit). He qualified as a doctor in 1984 and began his surgical career teaching anatomy and physiology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Following junior training posts in general surgery, neurosurgery and plastics, Mr Patel completed his higher surgical training in all aspects of ENT surgery initially at King’s College and subsequently at the Royal Marsden and St Mary’s Hospitals in London. Constanza is Mr Patel’s Clinical Assistant. Constanza was an operating theatre assistant in her native Argentina before coming to the UK to extend her experience in the Healthcare industry. Constanza assists Mr Patel in the smooth running of his clinics, and helps with all out patient procedures for patients safety and comfort.
Dr Gitta Madani, Consultant Radiologist
Gitta Madani is a Consultant Radiologist at Imperial College NHS Trust. She has a specialist interest in all aspects of head and neck imaging, including ENT (sinonasal and ear), salivary, maxillofacial (jaws and teeth), temporomandibular joint, thyroid, orbital, and skull base imaging (including imaging for hearing loss and vertigo). Dr Madani reports all modalities including CT, MRI and plain and contrast radiography. She performs sialograms (for salivary symptoms), dacrocystograms (for watery eyes), barium and video swallows (for swallowing problems), ultrasound and image-guided interventional procedures (including ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and biopsy). She also performs minimally invasive treatment of salivary strictures (balloon dilatation) and stones (basket retrieval).
Dr Alam Hussain, Consultant Audiological Scientist
Dr Alam Hussain is our Consultant Audiological Scientist . He has vast expertise in Hearing loss, Tinnitus, and Dizziness. Dr Hussain obtained a PhD in Audiology, and is now Head of Department at Imperial College Audiology Department (St Mary’s Campus). Dr Alam Hussain has set up his audio-vestibular laboratory at 11 Wimpole St, where the whole spectrum of hearing and balance testing can be done in a modern clinical facility. Dr Hussain is able to provide comprehensive management of patients with dizziness from investigation and advise for patients in terms of rehabilitation exercises and the Epley Manoeuvre. Dr Hussain is a qualified Hearing aid dispenser, and is able to prescribe latest digital hearing aids, which are discreet, small and comfortable. Dr Hussain is able to tailor rehabilitation and recommend the type of hearing aid(s) to your specific needs.
Claire Bolton Van Weert Speech Therapist
Claire is a Speech & Language Therapist who works with infants through to the elderly, treating dysphagia (feeding/swallowing problems), speech and language delays/disorders, literacy problems, voice difficulties and stammering. In addition Claire also offers Life Coaching. The first session is usually a 50 minute assessment (longer if required, particularly for formal school aged language assessments), and follow-up sessions are either 50 minutes or 30 minutes.
